Rivmic Melodies" by Robert Wyatt from the album '68, released by Cuneiform Records is one of the tracks Wyatt recorded at the conclusion of Soft Machine's.

68 is a compilation album by Robert Wyatt. It is composed of previously unreleased demos Wyatt recorded in 1968 at the end of a tour Soft Machine did with the Jimi Hendrix Experience in the United States. It was released by Cuneiform Records in 2013. Hendrix played bass guitar on one of the recordings, "Slow Walkin' Talk"

Cuneiform has delivered a Holy Grail with Robert Wyatt's '68. Of its four recordings, half were thought lost or not to have existed. After their second whirlwind tour of the . with the Jimi Hendrix Experience, the exhausted members of Soft Machine went their separate ways. Wyatt remained in California, then went to New York in the fall as a guest of the Experience.

The sound on '68 is excellent; it was painstakingly cleaned up and remastered from original sources, making this a must for any Wyatt, Soft Machine, or prog head. All killer, no filler.

68 is a music studio album recording by ROBERT WYATT (Canterbury Scene/Progressive Rock) released in 2013 on cd, lp, vinyl and/or cassette. Only for completionists (3%).

Robert Wyatt ’68. The tracks on this collection were recorded shortly after Wyatt’s band Soft Machine had broken up-temporarily, it would turn out-following a tour of the States with the Jimi Hendrix Experience. In fact, Wyatt worked on the tunes while staying at a house in California that the Experience had rented; Hendrix even appears, playing bass, on the track Slow Walkin’ Talk. Rivmic Melodies (18:19) would soon be reworked on Soft Machine’s 1969 second album, Volume Two, while Moon in June (20:36) eventually took up side three of the group’s 1970 album, Third. A couple years after that, Chelsa would reappear as Signed Curtain on the debut album by Wyatt’s post-Soft Machine band, Matching Mole, while Slow Walkin’ Talk returned as Soup Song on Wyatt’s 1975 album, Ruth Is Stranger Than Richard.

Robert Wyatt (born Robert Wyatt-Ellidge, 28 January 1945) is an English musician. A founding member of the influential Canterbury scene bands Soft Machine and Matching Mole, he was initially a kit drummer and singer before becoming paraplegic following an accidental fall from a window in 1973, which led him to abandon band work and begin a forty-year solo career.
