Live at Leeds is the first live album by the English rock band The Who. It was the only live album that was released while the group were still actively.

I didn't see the full album on here so here it is. I'll probably be putting annotations up so you can skip straight to Tommy.

Live at Leeds is the first live album by the English rock band The Who. It was recorded at the University Refectory, University of Leeds on 14 February 1970, and is the only live album that was released while the group were still actively recording and performing with their best known line-up of Roger Daltrey, Pete Townshend, John Entwistle and Keith Moon.

Here, the Who sound vicious - as heavy as Led Zeppelin but twice as volatile - as they careen through early classics with.

They did a gig at a college in England, recorded it, dug it, and came up with The Who Live At Leeds. Peter Townshend, who is the best critic of rock and roll in the world (his two interviews in Rolling Stone, at any rate, are the most brilliant and provocative dissertations on what rock and roll is, how it works, and what it’s for that I’ve ever read), packaged the record in such a way as to heighten its function.

Following the news that The Who are set to play Leeds again, in June 2006, we look at the background to one of rock's most famous albums - Live at Leeds. The Who. The original Who were: Roger Daltrey, Pete Townshend, Keith Moon, John Entwhistle. The band performed at the Monterey Pop Festival in 1967, Woodstock in 1969, Live Aid in 1985 and Live 8 in 2005. Firstly the band return to Leeds University, the scene of their iconic recording in 1970, on Saturday 17 June 2006. Then the O2 Wireless Festival takes place over the weekend of June 24/25 2006 at Harewood House. Many different versions of the Live in Leeds album have been re-released and re-mixed in the past decades but copies of the original record, complete with paper sleeve and all liner notes still pop-up an online auction sites. John Standerline writes to say: "Can I correct you on a point of detail about the original concert.

It was on February 14 1970 that The Who recorded their landmark Live At Leeds album in the hallowed 2,000 capacity Refectory. Thirty-six years later, with a little encouragement from me (a former Leeds Uni Ents Secretary), they were back to do it all over again.
