Hanns Eisler - Frühe Lieder album flac
Austrian composer Hanns Eisler, half Jewish and half Lutheran, lived through many of the major events of the 20th century, and his music, much underrated, reflects them. He was a student of Arnold Schoenberg and wrote some atonal and twelve-tone music, but then turned to the left politically and began to collaborate with Bertolt Brecht and to compose in a jazz-influenced style that sounds like a more serious version of Kurt Weill. In der Frühe (aus Anakreontische Fragmente). Matthias Goerne, Thomas Larcher, Ensemble Resonanz.
Hanns Eisler (6 July 1898 – 6 September 1962) was an Austrian composer (his father was Austrian, and Eisler fought in a Hungarian regiment in World War I). He is best known for composing the national anthem of East Germany, for his long artistic association with Bertolt Brecht, and for the scores he wrote for films. The Hochschule für Musik "Hanns Eisler" is named after him.
Hanns Eisler was a student of Arnold Schoenberg, who was irritated when Eisler shifted to more popular styles in the late 1920s. He went on to be nominated for two Oscars after fleeing Germany, then to be deported from the . after being accused of harboring Communist sympathies, then to write East Germany's national anthem. He wrote numerous songs, and this album focuses on works of the 1920s and 1930s, many with texts by Bertolt Brecht.
Austrian composer, born 6 July 1898 in Leipzig, Germany and died 6 September 1962 in East-Berlin, GDR (today Berlin, Germany). Variations: Viewing All Hanns Eisler. Eisler, Eisler, Hanns, Eissler, G. In der Frühe by Matthias Goerne and Thomas Larcher. The album ends with Goerne and Larcher's stunning performances of three of the longer, earlier songs of Eisler and Brecht, full of the fervor of the class struggle of the 1920s and 1930s: "Song of the Stimulating Effect of Cash" and "Ballad of the Waterwheel," both from the opera "Round Heads and Pointed Heads," and finally the magnificent, stirring "Solidarity.
