Jean Guillou was a French composer, organist, pianist, and pedagogue. Titular Organist at Saint Eustache from 1963 to 2015, he was known world wide as a composer of instrumental and vocal music focused on the organ, improviser, and adviser to organ builders. For several decades, he held regular master classes in Zurich and in Paris. In the theater, he played the part of Estragon in Waiting for Godot by Samuel Beckett; recited the monologue "A Terceira Margem do Rio" based on the text by João Guimarães Rosa and, as a reciter, together with the Japanese organist Aya Yoshida, presented the work "Alice au pays de l'orgue" by Jean Guillou for narrator and organ.
Jean Guillou, Visions Cosmiques - Improvisations dédiées à l'équipage d'Apollo 8 (1969) on for the legendary series Prospective 21ème siècle, This French series was devoted to electroacoustic and avant-garde music & curated by François Bayle and Pierre Henry. It was notable for using on its covers the "Procédé Heliophore" which engraves patterns on aluminum foil that cause beautiful optical effects.

Piano Improvisations Vol. 1 is an album recorded by Chick Corea and released in 1971. The album, along with its counterpart Piano Improvisations Vol. 2, was recorded over the course of two days in Oslo, Norway. The two albums in the Piano Improvisations series serve as a sort of bridge between Corea's other works in Circle and Return to Forever. The only musician featured on the album is Chick Corea on piano.
