Identity is the only album by Zee, a short-lived side project of Pink Floyd keyboardist Rick Wright, a duo partnership consisting of Wright and Dave Harris of New Romantic outfit Fashion, released in 1984. Wright later stated that he felt Identity was an "experimental mistake" that should never have been released. The album was written and produced by Wright and Harris and all the lyrics were penned by Harris.
On May 24th, Burning Shed Records will be issuing a deluxe box set of Zee’s 1984 album, Identity. The set will include a new remaster of the album, bonus tracks, unreleased mixes and demos, a lyric book, and reproduced promotional 10″ 8″ photos. Those with a flair for history and studio wizardry may appreciate the album for its technical accomplishments alone, namely how Wright and Harris were able to harness the Fairlight Computer, which could recreate the sound of any musical instrument.
Zee (3). Identity (LP, Album). This album will immediately hurt your 80's bone and is the definition of 80's synth-pop. But the album is good because of Richard Wright. Some people don't like the album and neither did Rick himself but I think it's enjoyable and catchy. It still takes it's place as a chapter in the Pink Floyd Story. A good album to listen to. Dave Harris has just released an update on his social media regarding the release of the Zee – Identity project which was scheduled for a release in Decemer 2017 but was pushed back for various reasons, it appears now we know the answers why. Hi ZEE Friends and followers. Here we go again! I must apologize for the time it has taken to get the album released. There has been a lot of work involved along the way and now we have reached the point of legal wrangling.

The two, collectively known as ZEE’s version of their album, IDENTITY is to be released this year. The album which was recorded at WRIGHT’s home studio and Utopia Studios in North London in 82, 83, utilises the Fairlight Computer, which has the ability to recreate the sound of any musical instrument. The new partnership was born out of a Greek holiday that Rick Wright had in 1981. It was there that he met Raf Ravenscroft the well-known saxophonist session musician whose playing graced Gerry Rafferty’s huge hit Baker Street.
