Here's a rare interview with Slash from Guns N Roses back in 1992
Slash Speaks! Inside the Guns N’ Roses Reunion and His New Album. The guitarist gives his first extensive interview on reuniting with GNR and explains why he’s not quitting his solo career. How did you manage to make a Conspirators album with all the Guns touring you’re doing? I started preproduction on this new material, and then I went back on the road. At some point, Axl and I hooked up on the phone, and then we met for a little bit and started talking about doing Coachella.
Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash said the band was planning to focus on a new album after it completes a brief tour in October of this year. Earlier this year, McKagan described the planned LP as real and magnificent after guitarist Richard Fortus said it would arrive faster than you think.
Guns N' Roses guitarist Slash told a reporter that the band might record a new album now that their reunion tour has wrapped. In an new interview with Japanese music critic Maso Ito, Slash says that Guns N’ Roses are contemplating the creation of a new album. Axl, Duff, myself and Richard have all talked abou. here’s material and stuff going on already for a new record, he said. It’s just, with Guns N’ Roses, you don’t go, ‘Oh, there is a plan, and it’s gonna be like this,’ because that’s not how it works
Guns N' Roses are about to start work on their first album in more than a quarter century. According to guitarist Slash, the reunited band will hit the studio in the fall once their current string of dates wrap up on Oct. 13 with the Exit 111 Festival. Speaking to Detroit's 101 WRIF this week, Slash confirmed that the legendary metal icons are ready to get at it again. After those Guns dates we'll be working on the record," he said before his phone line went dead for four minutes mid-interview
Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash confirmed that the band has made plans to start work on a new album later this year. Several members, including Slash, previously hinted that the idea had been discussed, with recording happening after they completed their touring duties in the fall. Explaining why he’d been indirect in the past, Slash told 101 WRIF (via Alternative Nation), The thing is, we hadn’t really done anything yet, and I don’t like to say anything
In a recent conversation made by Louder Sound, Slash speaks about Izzy Stradlin and why he wasn't envolved the reunion tour: Not in This Lifetime. I think I was using a Bicester Rich when Guns N’ Roses first started. In 2017, Slash had an interview with Sixx Sense and said that ‘Whole Lotta Love’ was the real reason which turned him to Les Paul.
Guns N' Roses, often abbreviated as GNR, is an American hard rock band from Los Angeles, California, formed in 1985. When they signed to Geffen Records in 1986, the band comprised vocalist Axl Rose, lead guitarist Slash, rhythm guitarist Izzy Stradlin, bassist Duff McKagan, and drummer Steven Adler. The current lineup consists of Rose, Slash, McKagan, keyboardist Dizzy Reed, guitarist Richard Fortus, drummer Frank Ferrer and keyboardist Melissa Reese.
In the interview Slash talks about Izzy Stradlin and Gilby Clarke And Izzy and I never had a great relationship. I played what i played on my side of the stage, Izzy played on his. Izzy couldn’t really play guitar anyways – he’s a great songwriter What’s weird is that Izzy and Slash jammed together at the last Snakepit show in 1995 in Chicago. Izzy even briefly returned for a few weeks in April 1995 to help write songs for a new Guns N’ Roses album.
Slash has confirmed Guns N' Roses are working on new material, but has maintained there's no concrete plans to record an album, although he is hopeful. As Louder Sound reports, speaking in an interview with TVK's Rock City, the Sweet Child O' Mine guitarist said: Axl, Duff, myself and Richard have all talked abou. here's material and stuff going on already for a new record. It's just, with Guns N’ Roses, you don't go, ‘Oh, there's a plan, and it's gonna be like this,' because that's not how it works
