Paul Schwarz Deafheaven are like YONL. Happy to slowly "catch up". Like w lots of CGs, esp BP (inc BPoH, BPiS, BPiSunshine). Caleb Bratcher Some of the drum transitions are fantastic and the shoegaze element really makes the album stand out among a sea of mediocre black metal. It's hard to say something about deafheaven that hasn't already been said but that's because they are just.

Deafheaven : Roads to Judah,альбом, рецезия, трек-лист, mp3, тексты песен. Deafheaven’s have been turning heads towards their direction ever since their inception, and with their first full length, Roads to Judah it is easy to see why. Focusing on a much more post rock inspired wavelength than many other bands within the field, yet still keeping the metallic fury, Deafheaven have created a competent mixture of the more mellow varieties of post rock with blistering black metal and even the odd touches of screamo.

Deafheaven’s have been turning heads towards their direction ever since their inception, and with their first full length, Roads to Judah it is easy to see why. On the other hand, the mixing of the album is quite a problem with me. Drums are pushed way too forward into the mix, to the point that they almost obliterate everything underneath them. The bass is almost non existent; the guitars are low in the mix, constantly being buried by the vocals and the drums.

Roads to Judah . 2011. Production: Jack Shirley – production, engineering, mixing, mastering Deafheaven – production. Artwork: R. Sawyer – cover art, insert art N. Steinhardt – package design. Why? What have they done? Who has the culprit crossed and forced in another year? Why have some gone, but we are still here?

Recorded by Jack Shirley (guitarist of Comadre), "Roads to Judah", is a hypnotic thirty eight minute plunge into hazy musical darkness. A dizzying hybrid of Shoegaze shimmer, Hardcore vulnerability, and Black Metal intensity. From the opening drone of the album it's as if we are are peering through a dream into the private world that is Deafheaven's "Roads to Judah". Layers and layers of instrumentation build, tangle and swirl before the real onslaught begins.

i love this album, but i was really sad to notice that my clear vinyl sounded just... awful. was it just mine, or the sound quality/equalization of this particular pressing was so bad that made my ears actually hurt? does it have to do with the 33rpm speed? it's like the mids were so high that it was almost unbearable to listen and i had to return it.
Malarad
Hey, idk, mine sounds pretty decent. I guess it's just an overall quality of sound of the album, which is sufficiently raw.
GAZANIK
Same here, it doesn't sound very good at all. Shame.
