In 2005, Maxïmo Park released their first album, A Certain Trigger, which sold over 300,000 copies and was nominated for the Mercury Prize in July 2005. In July, Maxïmo Park had the honour of being the first band to play the Ibiza Rocks festival on its opening event. In December 2006, the band were brought to Shanghai by Split Works Our Earthly Pleasures (2006–2007). On 28 March 2012, Maxïmo Park announced the fourth album title as The National Health. Smith said, "We're in a global recession and everyone is being bombarded with bouncy, happy music. The nation is out of control and the record is about taking back control, and being a force for change in your own life. It can't speak for everybody but it has its eyes and ears all around u. hat's always been a Maxïmo Park thing: look at yourself.

Too Much Information is the fifth studio album by English indie rock band Maxïmo Park. It was released on 3 February 2014 through Daylighting in the UK and Vertigo elsewhere in Europe. The track "Brain Cells" was released to radio stations as a promotional single in late 2013, followed by physical releases of singles "Leave This Island" and "Midnight On The Hill". Give, Get, Take" was eventually released as a digital single at the end of 2014.

Maxïmo Park seek to diagnose a nation's problems on their fourth album. Maxïmo Park’s arrival in 2005 with A Certain Trigger saw them thrown straight into a market already saturated with quirky British guitar groups. However, Darwinism applies in music as much as it does in the wild, and their infectious, literate and just straight-up solid tunes stood them in good stead, isolating them from the rest of their dunderheaded contemporaries. Perhaps sensing this, vocalist Paul Smith seemed determined to make The National Health an album that would delve right into the heart of matters. We're in a global recession and everyone is being bombarded with bouncy, happy music, he said in an interview. It can't speak for everybody but it has its eyes and ears all around us.

Maxïmo Park don’t hold back here. The National Health is a relentless whirr of huge melodies, frantic deliveries, all-over-the-place emotion and tales so tightly packed that it’s a wonder they’re able to pull it together at all. But they serve these songs up like the highly skilled pop pros they’ve become, and most strikingly they’re still attacking them like heady young’uns in the early throes of music-making.

Album by Maxïmo Park. Until the Earth Would Open. This Is What Becomes of the Brokenhearted. Wolf Among Men. Take Me Home. MusicBrainz: The National Health.

Maximo Park's new album 'The National Health' is released on June 11th.
