A. Savage - Thawing Dawn album flac
Thawing Dawn is the first solo studio album by A. Savage, the co-frontman of the New York City-based rock band Parquet Courts. The album was released on October 13, 2017 on the Dull Tools label. Buffalo Calf Road" – 3:30. Wild, Wild, Wild Horses" – 4:36. Indian Style" – 4:11. What Do I Do" – 7:52. Phantom Limbo" – 3:53. Winter in the South" – 3:21. Ladies from Houston" – 7:03. Thawing Dawn" – 5:05.
Thawing Dawn doesn't offer conclusive answers. Savage's perspective remains distinct, but he seems doubtful as he steps out on his own. The result is an album that lacks a clear sense of who he is as a solo artist. When a pedal-steel guitar line drifts into the opening track, it's clear that Thawing Dawn owes as much to Gram Parsons as Guided by Voices
Album · 2017 · 10 Songs. Following in the footsteps of artists like Townes Van Zandt or Silver Jews’ David Berman, co-frontman Andrew Savage’s solo debut is one for the porch, flirting with rumbling cowboy songs ( Winter in the South ), pedal-steel ballads ( Phantom Limbo ), and alien extensions of the blues ( What Do I Do ), all shot through with the humorous-but earnest-lyricism that has come. to make Savage’s songs so great. Thawing Dawn A Savage.
Thawing Dawn finds Savage treading the familiar territory of an urban creative distilling personal and contemporary concerns through an alt-country framework. He takes the bones of Parquet Courts’ scampish post-punk dynamic and adds a Southern garnish; littered throughout are pedal-steel licks and characters right out of a Flannery O’Connor short story. While this isn’t a Parquet Courts album, there are traces of the outfit’s style throughout, as though Savage were trying to take the band’s sardonic characteristics and saturate them in the never new and never old atemporality of country & folk. Second track Eyeballs is one of the most straightforward, and best, offerings here, an extension of the prismatic grit of Parquet Courts’ exceptional 2016 album, Human Performance.

But Andrew Savage seems up to the task of asking and reflecting on some deeper questions on Thawing Dawn, his debut solo album, released under the A. Savage moniker. In the photograph, the Parquet Courts' singer/guitarist sits on a bed, holding a guitar, next to Anscombe's influential philosophical book, and an ashtray. Though the photo was taken by Vince McClelland, Savage, known for his distinctive visual design, played a hand in the album design. While Savage is best known as the frontman for Parquet Courts, where he often spits wordy and frantic songs about broken hearts, the ten songs for Thawing Dawn, were assembled during a time that Savage fell in love. As a result, the record, recorded at Woods' Jarvis Taveniere's Thump Studios in Brooklyn, reflects on and explores the mysteries of romance and prove Savage as a sensitive and skilled vocalist.
Parquet Courts frontman Andrew Savage has announced his solo debut album, Thawing Dawn. The collection will be released under the moniker A. Savage and is due out October 13th on Dull Tools. The 10 songs were recorded during the past six months as Savage fell in love with his significant other. As a result, the upcoming project explores the mysteries of romance rather than lamenting a broken heart like on Parquet Courts’ most recent release, Human Performance.
